Just the research of our team of engineers led us to be the first Company to provide UC solutions for Microsoft. Our products are completely integrated with the Teams console, from which they take their cue for the user interface, designed to guarantee professional experience both to the recipient operator and to the operator who makes more important use of the operator console in a manner, such as for example the call center operators.

Supporting Gli Amici Del Villaggio Onlus

This Christmas we support Gli amici del Villaggio Onlus

This year Mida has a brand new way to celebrate Christmas: the amount of money that in the last years was addressed to Christmas presents for clients and partners, this year will be given in charity to Gli amici del Villaggio Onlus from Padua.

This idea comes from a wider matter, that our team directly raised, which is the company’s social responsibility towards the environment and the local community as well.

Gli amici del Villaggio Onlus (in English the name means The village’s friends) is an organization born 20 years ago in Padua, the city where Mida has its headquarters, and its mission is to organize entertaining and cultural activities for people suffering from neurodegenerative diseases like multiple sclerosis or other types of disabling diseases. The association convenes every 15 days and the volunteers schedule for the disabled people different activities: reading, art films-documentaries screening, roundtables with art experts, etc. The main objective is to give them some leisure and cultural moments, that may help them escape from their daily routine, which is often burdened with physical problems.

The association can carry on its activities only thanks to the donations it receives, which are fully addressed to purchase materials for the activities, organize the excursions, maintain the special minibus used to transport the disabled persons, and to pay the rent for the room used for the meetings.

Gli amici del Villaggio activities are organized by eleven volunteers - seven active in the activities planning and four drivers - and other occasional volunteers, people who dedicate their spare time to the disabled for free. It’s thanks to the commitment of these people that the association can plan even two holidays in the summertime (by the sea - in Caorle, and in the mountains - Cadore area) and a three-day trip in spring.

Mida has decided to become a 100% plastic-free company by 2019. The company and the staff have decided, by unanimous vote, to adopt the “plastic-free” philosophy by modifying the company’s purchases and behaviors with the aim of abandoning plastic packaging and disposable plastic products.

Less wastefulness and less environmental pollution: these are the objectives that Mida has set itself since summer 2019 and that have led to great changes not only in business choices but also in the individual behaviors of employees who,  when possible, come to work by bike, public transport or green vehicles such as an electric scooter.

The data reported by the WWF are disconcerting: every year 570.000 tonnes of plastic are transported in the sea, only in Mediterranean Sea waters, which is an amount equivalent to 33.800 plastic bottles per minute. Unfortunately, the numbers leave no room for interpretation: if no measures will be taken, by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the seas.

For this reason, Mida has decided to apply the formula that lies at the heart of sustainability, the so-called “4R rule” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover) to become plastic-free by the end of 2019: we have already abandoned disposable plastic as glasses, coffee spoons, and bottles and from January we will start using biodegradable or compostable coffee pods and reusable water coolers.

Of course, these are just the first steps of the long-term improvement process that we have planned for the next months. We hope that our commitment will raise awareness of other companies as well, considering the great impact that business’ eco-sustainable choices can have on a global scale.

The long-lasting partnership with Microsoft has recently being potentiated thanks to the co-sell-ready certification assigned to Mida C - Cloud Contact Center, Mida Recorder, and Mida Attendant Console which, once again, demonstrates the high-reliability, top-quality and full integrability of our products. Mida’s products are already available for enterprise customers in Azure Marketplace.

Microsoft co-sell program has been active since 2016 to provide marketing and sales support to partners developing solutions in Azure. To successfully be included in the program companies must provide a series of customer references, pass some technology and sales assessment and fulfill a performance commitment.
