What does a graphical user interface mean?

The graphical user interface (GUI) is the visual aspect of an electronic device or software, that allows the end-user to interact with it. It is part of the user interface and includes graphical elements, like buttons, menus, icons, windows, and audio indicators which sometimes can be enhanced with sounds or visual effects like transparency and drop shadows.

A well-designed GUI can have a positive impact on the customer experience as they can really help them in using the software or application. In the contact center GUI can really make the difference as it can boost agents’ activities and reduce training times. As a result, also customers’ experience with the contact center service will be improved. A simple and intuitive GUI layout is guided by a “what you need is what you get” philosophy to avoid any unnecessary information or setting that can lead to unwanted confusion and mistakes.
